Pete Cumming

Since the Scuttlebutt newsletter is delivered by email, it must pass through countless well-intentioned content filters designed to block all the swarmy messages distributed by online villains.

Apparently Scuttlebutt 2938 also fell into this lair when it was deemed to have inappropriate content, and thus was blocked by Microsoft Forefront Server Security.

To all the ‘buttheads who were offended when it was reported that ‘Pete Cumming’ was the overall series leader of the iShares Cup, please accept our apologies.

I sent a catalogue of books to someone at swbts.edu including one by an author named Cumming. This was also blocked by Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server.

I sent this response to their website people:
Just received the bounce below from your spam filter. I can assure you that Cu!m!m!ing is a perfectly normal Scottish surname, meriting almost a whole column in our Phone Book, and several entries in your local Fort Worth one too, not to mention being a city in Georgia to which we've sent books to three different people in the past. Maybe you could adjust your filter?
