Sailing is a sport for those who would rather play than watch.
Sailing is a sport for those who don't like dressing like pimps and chasing little white balls around a field while their family is somewhere else. Sailing is a sport for those who want to enjoy the outdoors with their family!

I really hate to say it, but 'clowns,' as in "here come the clowns!" That's an actual quote by two macho-looking camoflaged bass fishermen in the marina parking lot, during our 40-boat dinghy regatta.
At first I was a little put off, then I looked around. Men of all ages were coming ashore covered head to foot in an outrageous assortment of clashing colors. Some with white noses.
Then I looked at myself -- neon green hat, dark glasses, Extrasport pfd, Gill smock, Sailing Angles shorts over lycra, gloves, neoprene boots, etc. I couldn't say much.
Sailing is a sport for girls and boys of all ages who never want to grow up! The luckiest ones have families who enjoy it as well.
Sailing is for those who couldn't race motorcycles with a clear conscience.
Sailing is a barbarian's sport played by gentlemen. Powerboating is a gentlemen's sport played by barbarians.
